Tip Top Lofts – 637 Lakeshore Boulevard

Certain developments are designed to be true destination addresses. The Tip Top Lofts is one loft that holds the potential for just such recognition. Fast becoming one of the premier loft conversions in Toronto, it commands a definite premium in price.

The Tip Top Tailors Building is a historic property by Toronto’s waterfront. Built in 1929 by Bishop & Miller for the Toronto clothing retailer, the Art Deco building was a warehouse and office facility. In spring 2002 it was sold and redeveloped as Tip Top Lofts by Context Development Inc.

The Tip Top Lofts condominium corporation registered in late August 2006. Standing at five storeys, an additional three floors of two-story units have been added. Huge windows and ceilings with original massive cement pillars furnish these hard loft spaces.

Building amenities include fitness center/spa, gym, jacuzzi, lounge and a huge event room with a catering kitchen.

The original lofts occupy floors 1 thru 5, with first floor units having ceiling heights a little more than 14 feet and the others are 13 feet. Mezzanine lofts are on floors 6 thru 9 and feature newly-built two-storey living spaces with 17-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies. Penthouse lofts at the Tip Top Lofts are on floors ten and eleven and have 11-foot ceilings.
