The Action: There were about 20 showings for this one-bedroom corner suite in the Tannery Lofts. Though two other units were up for sale at the same time, this one was snatched up first largely due to its premium placement in the building.

What They Got: Several years ago, a century-old warehouse on Dundas Street East was converted into a residential building and expanded to create new loft-style suites above. This third-floor residence is in the original brick structure, so it preserves the 13-foot ceilings, exposed brick walls and wood post and beams.

The 800-square-foot loft features windows throughout, including the U-shaped kitchen, open living and dining areas and the master bedroom.

Cleaning chores are made easy with a four-piece bathroom, stainless steel appliances and laundry facilities.

There is a monthly fee of $468, including water and heat.

The unit comes with a locker, but not parking, however parking can be rented and the building is steps from public transit, the Distillery District and Queen Street East bars and bistros.

The Agent’s Take: “It was an authentic loft with post and beam construction, exposed brick and a rawness that really what attracted people to the space,” agent Christopher Bibby says.

“It was also a corner suite, so we not only had windows on the south side, but also windows on the east side as well … so it didn’t feel dark and enclosed.”
