40 Ainsworth Road Lofts
On a quiet little road in North Riverdale, almost an laneway, there is a rare and unique loft carved from a turn of the century sausage factory. Four townhouse-style lofts were converted in 1985 at 40 Ainsworth Road, just north of Danforth and Logan. Converted only 3 years after the first one on Shanley Avenue, this is one of Toronto’s first loft conversions.
Located in the Jackman School District, it is only a few blocks from Withrow Park. Combined with the large sizes of the lofts, this makes for a building that is actually quite well-suited for families with children. Proximity to Pape and Chester subway stations ensures easy access to transportation. Never mind the one block walk to all the Danforth has to offer. And if you need to drive, the DVP is only minutes away.
This hidden hard loft has been featured in magazines, though not for decades. With only one sale since 2002, they certainly do not come up for sale very often. Three of the lofts have 2 bedrooms, one has 3 bedrooms. All have 2 washrooms. Parking is in a covered carport on the side of the building, down a cute little alleyway. All of the units have private rooftop decks to enjoy the summer sun.
The lofts are multi-level, with high ceilings, sizes around 1,400 square feet. The building is self-managed and the fees are low ($300 as of 2011).
I am guessing that the next listing will be gone in a matter of hours!
